About Victor Simonson
Musical Director, Pianist & Composer
Victor Simonson is a groundbreaking Musical Director, Pianist, and Composer who made history as the first Black Conductor for Broadway's Hamilton. His impressive Broadway credits include The Lion King, Memphis the Musical, The Color Purple, Wicked, Ragtime, and The Wiz.
Victor has served as Music Director for Three Mo' Tenors, Interim Conductor for the Boys Choir of Harlem, and was recognized as the youngest Black Music Director for a Broadway-bound show with Brooklyn the Musical. He has also worked as a rehearsal pianist for the National Symphony Orchestra and composed Stomping Grounds: A Hip-Hopera. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Victor co-founded CAAPA to give back to his community.
